Willo Products Co., LLC v. Habersham Metal Products Co., Civil Action No. 2:23-cv-00138-RWS (N.D. Ga. July 24, 2023)

Plaintiff Willo Products Company, LLC, (“Willo”) has brought suit for infringement of a single patent in the Northern District of Georgia. Willo makes locking devices, including a surface-mounted lock pocket lock marketed as the Wedge. The Wedge includes a lock bolt guard that reduces the ability for inmates to defeat the lock. Dkt. 1 ¶¶ 7, 9. Willo owns all rights in U.S. Patent No. 10,385,587, entitled “Tamper-Resistant Locking Systems and Methods,” and directed to surface-mounted lock pocket locks.

According to the complaint, Defendant Habersham Metal Products Company (“Habersham”) is also in the locking systems business, and has sold an infringing surface-mounted lock pocket lock to the Georgia Department of Corrections, which was installed at the Monroe County Jail in Forsyth, Georgia. Id. ¶¶ 10, 12-13.

Plaintiff brings claims for direct, induced, contributory, and willful infringement of the ‘587 Patent. The case has been assigned to Judge Richard Story.
