Local Law Firm Founders Legal Files Suit against Legal Founders for Confusingly Similar Marks

A trademark Complaint in the Northern District pits two firms against each other over the use of an allegedly confusingly similar mark.

Plaintiff Bekiares Eliezer, LLP, doing business as Founders Legal, accuses Defendant of offering legal and quasi-legal corporate services under the confusingly similar and infringing mark, Legal Founders.

“In seeking legal services, it is vital that clients not be confused as to the lawyers and representatives they hire. The consequences of confusion are grave and include ineffective representative resulting in prejudice.” Complaint, Civil Action No. 1:23-cv-00655-ELR, Dkt. 1 at 1 (N.D. Ga. Feb. 13, 2023).

The Complaint includes counts for infringement, false designation of origin, and unfair competition under the Lanham Act, as well as common law trademark infringement, unfair competition, and deceptive trade practices under Georgia law.

The case has been assigned to Judge Eleanor Ross.
