Southwest Actors Conference, LLC v. Malinowski, Civil Action No. 1:23-cv-02653 (N.D. Ga., June 14, 2023)

Plaintiff Southwest Actors Conference, LLC, files suit in the Northern District of Georgia for trademark infringement. According to the Complaint, Plaintiff formed Southwest and began using the mark “Southwest Actors Conference” in 2019 and hosted its first conference in 2022. Complaint, ¶¶ 4-7. Defendant allegedly conducted conferences for the preceding three years under the name “Atlanta Actors Summit.” Id. at ¶ 34. However, in March 2023, Defendant allegedly began to use the name “Southeast Actors Conference.” Id. at ¶ 9.

Plaintiff brings one count of false designation of origin under the Lanham Act and one count of trademark infringement under Georgia law.
